Splash of Pink does Vegas Breast Cancer Ball

Following the success of her Splash of Pink Ball last year, former patient at Macclesfield Hospital, Gena Moors has revealed she is hosting another spectacular event in 2024.

Splash of Pink does Vegas will take place at Shrigley Hall Hotel and Spa on Saturday 21st September.

Vegas was somewhere Gena always wanted to go, but could never see the opportunity, but after her diagnosis and treatment she fulfilled her dream by going for her 50th birthday with husband, Rob.

Guests attending the event will be greeted with a drinks reception and a three-course dinner. There will be a fun money casino, entertainment, a silent and live auction and a disco until 1.00am.

Tickets are £80 per person, with tables of 12 available. There is also an option to pre-order fun money to spend in the casino with tickets. 

Gena’s aim is to double her fundraising at this year’s event, so the money raised can go towards a new piece of life saving equipment on the unit, above and beyond what the NHS funds.

Gena’s story

Gena, who is married with two children, was diagnosed with breast cancer just before lockdown in 2020 and underwent a lumpectomy. Following chemotherapy at the hospital, Gena decided to create ‘Splash of Pink ’ ball to say thank you for the care she received.

The event was a great success and raised an incredible £23,604.53.

Following the event, she said: “I’m blown away with the support I’ve had, and I’m so pleased with the amount raised. I’m incredibly proud of what’s been achieved so far and can’t wait for the next event.

“My aim is to raise £50,000 so we can purchase a new piece of equipment for the breast care department and help save lives – bring on Splash of Pink 2024!”
