East Cheshire NHS Trust staff have raised over £1,500 for their local NHS charity at the recent AJ Bell Great Manchester Run.
Thousands of runners took part at the popular event last month, taking on the course which ran through the streets of Manchester.
Clinical and corporate staff from the Trust, including Director of Nursing and Quality, Kate Daly-Brown and Medical Director, Dr John Hunter, took on the 10K race, with all monies raised going towards making a difference to local NHS services at Macclesfield District General Hospital, Knutsford Community Hospital, Congleton War Memorial Hospital and a range of community services.
Rowena Moores, Specialist Paediatric Dietitian at the Trust, said: “The atmosphere was just incredible and there were so many shouts from the crowd supporting the staff from East Cheshire.”
Liliana Feketics, Staff Nurse on Ward 4 at Macclesfield Hospital, added: “It was such a rollercoaster of emotions throughout the run. Everybody was great and it was an amazing atmosphere.”
Lily Preston, Fundraising and Events Manager at East Cheshire NHS Charity said, “It was great to see so many staff take on the run in aid of supporting their local NHS charity. Thank you to everyone who took part and donated.”
